Project Summary
NEO HARDWARE
is a 12-track EDM album blending wave/hardwave, dubstep, and trap with a cinematic sci-fi tone.

The album follows Anita, an android witnessing the moral collapse of a dying world. The project leans emotional, cryptic, and serious, pulling from cyberpunk atmospheres and futuristic storytelling. Sonically, it lives in the space between melodic wave, heavy hybrid bass, and dystopian sound design.

I led art direction for the album, shaping a cohesive visual identity across motion, 3D, typography, color, and social media builds for various platforms.

Process

NEO HARDWARE’s logo aesthetic is rooted in cyberpunk visual language, drawing inspiration from futuristic, high-contrast worlds like Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Blade Runner, and Virtual Self.

I designed the logo around a serif typeface (Edition) paired with kanji (the same title rendered in Japanese) to reinforce that techno-futurist tone and give it a sense of cultural texture.

To make the mark feel custom and intentional, I subtly bent the “W” along the path of the second “A,” improving visual flow and rhythm. The treatment is a quiet nod to the Virtual Self logo.

Regarding the album covers and visualizers, I used a variety of programs including Unreal Engine, Blender, After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. UE was the primary for the high-quality renders, specifically for the title track, When I Rock, Commodity, Real Eyes VIP, and Control. The others were compiled in Photoshop and given the special effects treatment in AE.

Final Deliverables

Final deliverables included a comprehensive brand campaign package with platform-specific visualizers, alongside promotional video content and scalable display builds in multiple formats.

I supported the album launch to an established Spotify audience of 18.9K+ unique listeners, contributing to 277 monthly listeners and 12.6% intentional engagement within the first eight days of release. My visual strategy and rollout helped drive strong early retention, resulting in 10.9 streams per listener, 109 saves, and 60 playlist adds during the release window.

This project reflects my approach to art direction: cohesive systems, cinematic storytelling, and measurable impact.
